Fitzy...

Canthan Grandmaster Cartographer isn't difficult.
It isn't difficult and it isn't elitist...
And better still... you don't even NEED Vizunah Square Foreign Quarter... just like you don't NEED the Shing Jea Boardwalk.
Just make sure you grind the edges.... Get the dodgy areas like the docks around Kaineng Center (the parts of the capital that few bother going to), the dragon island in the Crimson Skull base on Shing Jea Island (southwest), the corners of the burnt parts of Nahpui Quarter explorable... etc.
Make sure you've got all of Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry.... even if it involves waiting for hours, manually organising teams or even risking getting Dishonourable status.
Keep doing Vizunah Square (from either side) until you get a full AI team on both sides (so you're not griefing anyone) and then grind the hell out of that place.
Make sure you've streaked around Shiro Tagachi armourless and got yourself banished to his little island of the mists (which really does require griefing a team, so make sure you have plenty of idiot warriors with you).
If you're really desperate.... get a guest invite to one of the guilds in the alliance that holds Eredon Terrace and get the area in the hills back there (I managed to get that myself)...

But honestly... it isn't that tough. Cantha is the smallest of the continents and effectively the easiest to map (if you discount Jade Quarry waiting time). It was the first GMC I got... before moving on to Tyria (Dunes of Despair is aptly named) and eventually Elona (Remains of Sahlahja is not a fun mission).
I've got 100% and I most likely have another 1% at least hanging around yet to be uncovered.
And yes... I have the Legendary Cartographer title...
Does it make me feel elite?
Does it make me feel awesome when I step into an area with my "People Know Me" title and see at least two "I'm Very Important" folk running past?

Hell no.

Complain if you want to complain, but know that your solutions have been given and now you're just moaning to yourself.

I will be sure to let the other team know that Magma Red said it Will not have any affect on their mission whatsoever. So, it is ok for me to ignore the action and just map casually thru the scenario, after all Magma Red said so.

Because what you do not get is that using their supposedly good advice does not work either. This if you do this you get good drops. If you compare map pictures you can tell what your missing. I can tell - I am missing a part of Shing Jea monastery I was locked out of during the Dragon Festival. I have everything else. So, unless GW provides an alt-key combo that shows what part of each region you are missing while you are in it or the percentage displays on call when you are in that region, then yes they are all liars. Their methods do not work without exploits and cheats. And mapping by traveling thru and seeing the graphics the team worked to create is more important and should have greater value.

The drops do not happen. It does not matter how much you kill, whether you farm or don't farm, whether you just play through the missions and quests repeatedly, whether you bop along with others while they do, - they drops don't happen. As I stated: I was with a friend who just went to Cantha. I too had a character that just moved to Cantha at the same time. We did the first quest and Chasing ZenMai. We received no gold - I do not mean gold items, I mean we did not get any cash drops during the entirety of both quests. He specifically remarked on it - I am used to not getting crap. When I merched I got a couple blue, a few whites, and body parts (collectable stuff). That for fighting all the way to Vizunah, then to Zen Mai, then to the Undercity, then thru the end of the quest, then, ... The drops suck. The game has always sucked in this way, since the day I got it.
I'd like to see where I said you wouldn't effect other people when mapping. I didn't. You can, however, map Vizunah without messing another team up. Play at an odd hour of the day when hardly anyone is on, you'll get a hench team on the opposite side. Go to International districts, or a region where it is after bed time for the majority of people, and you'll get hench.

I know this, because I mapped Vizunah with hench, and had hench on the opposite side!

Fitz, you are a moron, and you have been wrong several times.

Oddly enough... I know that the average person, if called a moron / wrong... irrespective of whether it is truthful or not.... is more likely to just get defiant and angry in return and discount anything you have to say than actually take in what you're saying and accept it.

That said... I will quite often call people morons if I honestly don't care if they're listening or not.

Best just leave Fitzy to complain. He / she / it clearly needs to get it out of their system. When they feel up to going to Vizunah Local again... they'll find a way and the complaining will miraculously cease.

ARRRRRGGGHHHHHHH.

I never mapped Vizunah, I just have it from doing the mission normally (even checked with a texmod aid- nothing there)
I haven't mapped Jade Quarry.
I haven't had to use any exploits, NT tricks, anything like that.
I've got Canthan GMC.

ARGGHH. Please read what people are saying. You're just talking aimlessly for the sake of whining and arguing.

Fitz seems to be rather selective in his responses, quite a few of us have pointed out that it's possible to do it without cheats / griefing / exploits and instead of responding to that he/she decides we're liars and then changes tack to moan about drops again, as the other threads have already bitten the dust.

/waits for the lock.

You sure you're not wrong, Fitz? People with the title are even willing to provide screenshot evidence against your claims. A true elitist believes every one else is wrong when the facts weigh against them. Maybe you should read the posts against you with less of a taint and more of an open mind. And believe me, I'm more inclined to believe Esan, who took the time to find it out over you, who just wants to be right.

They can do whatever they want with a photo-editor. No, I don't believe what I do not have in hand. I am a cynic not an elitist.

Ok so basically you are saying we are all liars, and the only one being honest here is you?!?!?!

If that is truly what your saying then you have an ego that none of us can compete with.

Obviously since you do NOT have 100% you are not nearly as good as you seem to believe yourself to be.

Get over it, quit whining about it and actually work on your title. It isn't getting any farther with you whining on the forums about it. Especially as it is such a big deal for you.

Just waiting for them to lock this thread

Actually on second thought, if you are so positive you have mapped everywhere why not post YOUR map and let us all do a comparison and show where you fail at mapping?!??! Oh wait that would prove YOU are WRONG and we can't have that now could we?

ROFL... "they" ?

ONOEZ it's a conspiracy !!!

I repeat, I am perfectly willing to pm you a 100% Canthan map from a Tyrian toon, who hasn't used any exploits or cheats. That was a prefectly civil offer I made previously not some attempt by an "elitist snob" to denigrate your efforts, but still you choose to assume that others are lying. If you choose to assume that I will use photoshop to send you a fake map that says a whole lot more about you than it does about me.

/wonders why I'm still feeding this.

Yes, because it is easier to believe people went to that much trouble to deceive you than it is to believe you are wrong about your beliefs on the matter. If you are truly a cynic, then the virtual world is probably not where you should be spending time...

Magma Red, you are correct about one thing. It was Lady Ana Stacia that said:
Quote:
Mapping also does not require anything that would in anyway hinder anyone else's play style nor undermine any of their efforts. There are hero's and hench in this game for a reason. Use them and mapping area's will not hurt any player in this game at all.
Meaning it is perfectly ok to grief peoples efforts to get mission and bonuses, since it is not possible to enter a competitive or cooperative mission otherwise.

There should be an alternative form of entry to areas that can be mapped, period. And just so you get something straight which you All seem to keep missing:

RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO your God Damned Title! Is that clear?

Those who want to open the map should be able to open the map regardless of any damned title. There should not be any racist subdivision or delousing stations for foreigners, which is the way it is set up. Guild Wars - Where Apartheid is protected.

I was mapping with characters before there was a title. I will continue to map with my characters if the title ceases to exist. I will continue to hold that:
  1. setting up circumstances of exclusion from access to accountable areas is wrong
  2. setting up circumstances that are so difficult as to drive 99.9% of players to use exploits, cheats, and outside programs to assist is wrong
  3. setting up exclusions based upon race, culture, religion, country of origin, etc. is wrong - even by example

All right, I was going to just delete out all the flames, insults, name-calling but when I start to get to numbers like '20' on a 3 page thread then it's time for it to be closed.
